Pay-As-You-Go Credits
Estimated time: 3 minutes
Not ready for a monthly subscription? FlowEdge’s pay-as-you-go credit packs let you generate documents on demand. Buy credits when you need them and use them at your own pace.
How Credits Work
The credit system is simple:
- 1 credit = 1 document generation — Whether it is a proposal, SOW, contract, or general document
- Editing a document does not use credits
- Downloading PDFs does not use credits
- Regenerating a document uses 1 credit (because it creates a new document)
Credit Packs
FlowEdge offers three credit pack sizes:
| Pack | Credits | Best For |
|---|---|---|
| Small | A small bundle | Trying FlowEdge beyond the free trial |
| Medium | A mid-size bundle | Regular freelance or consulting work |
| Large | A larger bundle | High-volume document generation |
Larger packs offer a lower cost per credit. Check the Billing page in your FlowEdge dashboard for current pricing.
💡 Tip
If you find yourself buying credit packs regularly, a monthly subscription plan might save you money. Compare options in Plans & Pricing.
Credit Expiration
Pay-as-you-go credits have an expiration period. Once purchased, credits remain in your account for a set period of time. Check the Billing page for current expiration terms.
⚠️ Important
Credits expire after the stated period. Purchase only the credits you expect to use within the expiration window to get the most value.
Checking Your Credit Balance
You can see your remaining credits:
- In the sidebar — Your credit balance is displayed in the navigation
- On the Billing page — A detailed view of your credits, purchase history, and expiration dates
- During generation — The generation form shows your available credits before you generate
Credits vs. Subscription Plans
| Feature | Pay-As-You-Go | Monthly Plan |
|---|---|---|
| Commitment | None | Monthly |
| Cost per credit | Higher | Lower |
| Credit rollover | Credits last until expiration | Monthly credits do not roll over |
| Best for | Occasional use | Regular use |
✅ Best Practice
If you generate 5 or more documents per month consistently, a subscription plan is usually more cost-effective than buying credit packs.
